GHETTO DROME SPRINTS
Avondale Velodrome, Olympic Park, Portage Road, Avondale, 6PM – 9PM , Wednesday 8th April 09

FORMAT:
In order to end up with a top 8 points standing for the overall ALLTRACK championship, the competition itself will be run as a heads up, eliminator style knock-out rounds (two rider races).
We will give riders a short warm-up to accustom themselves with the Avondale Velodrome, but due to time & light constraints we will have to start the competition as soon as we can.
The race order will be determined randomly, with each competitor pulling a "number out of a hat". This process will be done in front of everybody to ensure fairness and non-bias.
If you are eliminated, you are out of the race, unless you have advanced to the final 8, where you will then race for 1st – 8th place in another series of knock-out eliminator rounds.
The sprinting distance is approximately 200m. It will be a held start, not track stand start.
First person to cross the finish line wins. If you have a mechanical failure during the sprint it will not force a re-race unless agreed to by your opponent. There will be a camera for photo finishes.
If time allows at the end of the eliminator rounds we will run team pursuit races, grudge races, and any other type of race depending on the competitors and how everybody is feeling. Please note that these events however will not count towards the final event standings.

HELMETS ARE MANDATORY FOR THIS EVENT DUE TO VENUE REGULATIONS. NO GLASS BOTTLES. NO EXCEPTIONS. ALL COMPETITORS PLEASE BE THERE PROMPTLY FOR REGISTRATION AND RACE ORDER.
